Wedding Budget
The Wedding Budget category helps couples understand, create, and manage the financial side of their wedding. It should focus on realistic decision-making rather than simply encouraging readers to spend less. The content should explain how wedding costs are structured, which expenses are commonly underestimated, and how apparently small decisions can affect the total budget. Articles may cover venue costs, catering minimums, service charges, taxes, gratuities, rentals, transportation, vendor overtime, insurance, décor, attire, travel, and seasonal pricing. A central principle of this category is that the lowest advertised price is not always the most affordable final option. Couples should be encouraged to compare complete estimates rather than individual starting prices. Articles should also help readers identify their priorities. Spending more in one category may be reasonable if that area is important to the couple, but the content should explain the trade-offs clearly. It should never shame readers for having a small or large budget. Typical topics may include: wedding budget breakdowns; hidden wedding expenses; how to compare vendor quotes; holiday and peak-season premiums; where to save and where to spend; wedding payment schedules; emergency budget categories; Black Friday wedding purchases; calculating the real cost per guest.
Wedding Etiquette
The Wedding Etiquette category addresses communication, expectations, boundaries, and sensitive social situations related to weddings and engagements. This category should not present etiquette as a rigid collection of outdated rules. Instead, it should explain the purpose behind common conventions and help couples decide which practices are appropriate for their situation. Articles may cover invitations, guest lists, family roles, engagement announcements, gift expectations, plus-ones, children, dress codes, financial contributions, wedding party responsibilities, holiday weddings, and communication with people who are not invited. The content should be respectful of different family structures, cultures, budgets, and relationship types. It should not assume that parents are paying, that every couple follows traditional gender roles, or that all weddings are formal. Whenever possible, articles should include practical scripts or wording examples. Readers often understand etiquette principles but struggle to communicate a decision without creating unnecessary conflict. Typical topics may include: who to tell first after an engagement; how to announce an engagement; plus-one etiquette; children at weddings; handling uninvited family members; Thanksgiving wedding etiquette; wedding party expectations; gift and registry etiquette; managing family pressure; communicating boundaries politely.
Wedding Logistics
The Wedding Logistics category covers the operational details that allow the wedding day to run smoothly. These topics may not be the most visually appealing parts of planning, but they often determine whether guests and vendors can move through the day safely and efficiently. Articles should address transportation, parking, vendor arrival times, deliveries, setup, power supply, restrooms, weather plans, accessibility, ceremony transitions, cleanup, emergency contacts, and communication responsibilities. The content should help couples understand that logistics involve more than creating a timeline. A realistic logistics plan must account for travel distances, traffic, loading access, guest mobility, weather changes, vendor dependencies, and delays. Each guide should clearly identify who is responsible for each task. Couples should know which responsibilities belong to the venue, planner, transportation company, caterer, rental company, wedding party, or designated family member. This category is especially important for outdoor weddings, multi-location weddings, destination events, private-property weddings, and celebrations held during winter or holiday travel periods. Typical topics may include: wedding transportation plans; weather backup plans; ceremony-to-reception transitions; vendor arrival schedules; snow and rain contingency planning; shuttle timing; parking and valet planning; generator and power requirements; wedding-day emergency plans; setup and cleanup responsibilities.
Wedding Planning
The Wedding Planning category provides structured, step-by-step guidance for couples organizing their own wedding. Its primary purpose is to help readers understand what needs to be done, when each decision should be made, and how different planning tasks affect one another. Content in this category should reduce confusion by turning the wedding planning process into a clear sequence of manageable decisions. It can include full planning timelines, monthly checklists, final-week preparation guides, vendor confirmation schedules, planning systems, task prioritization methods, and instructions for couples with short or long engagements. Articles should not simply provide long lists of tasks. They should explain why each task matters, what can happen if it is delayed, and which decisions depend on it. For example, choosing a venue affects the wedding date, guest capacity, catering options, transportation, rentals, and budget. This category should make readers feel more organized without suggesting that there is only one correct planning timeline. The content should account for different budgets, wedding sizes, family situations, cultural traditions, and planning periods. Typical topics may include: wedding planning timelines; monthly wedding checklists; what to do after getting engaged; final-month wedding planning; planning a wedding in six months; how to organize wedding documents; decisions…

Invitations & Stationery
The Invitations & Stationery category covers the planning, timing, wording, and practical use of wedding communication materials. This category includes save-the-dates, formal invitations, details cards, RSVP cards, menus, programs, place cards, seating charts, thank-you notes, wedding websites, and digital guest communication. Articles should help couples understand what information guests actually need. Invitation design is important, but clarity is more important. Guests should be able to identify the date, time, location, dress code, RSVP method, travel information, and any important restrictions. The category should also explain mailing timelines, RSVP deadlines, printing lead times, holiday mail delays, address collection, postage, international invitations, and wording for different wedding formats. Content should provide usable examples without suggesting that every wedding requires a traditional printed suite. Digital invitations, wedding websites, and simplified stationery systems may be appropriate depending on the couple, guest list, and event style. Typical topics may include: when to send wedding invitations; save-the-date timing; holiday wedding invitation wording; winter dress code wording; RSVP deadline planning; wedding website content; adults-only wedding wording; destination wedding details; invitation mistakes; printed versus digital invitations.
Photography
The Photography category helps couples plan wedding and engagement photography around timing, light, weather, location, priorities, and budget. Articles should explain how photography affects the wedding timeline. Ceremony time, sunset, travel distance, first-look decisions, family photo lists, venue access, and weather can all influence the amount and quality of available photography time. The content should help couples communicate clearly with photographers. Readers should understand the difference between photography style, editing style, coverage hours, second photographers, engagement sessions, albums, digital files, usage rights, and delivery timelines. Seasonal photography content should address specific challenges. Winter weddings may involve early sunsets, low indoor light, snow, rain, travel delays, and limited outdoor time. Summer weddings may involve heat, harsh midday light, and long daylight hours. The category should not promise perfect photographs. Instead, it should help readers make informed decisions and create realistic expectations. Typical topics may include: winter wedding photography; engagement photo planning; first look versus no first look; family photo lists; low-light wedding photography; photography timeline planning; choosing photo locations; questions to ask a photographer; second photographer decisions; preparing for bad weather.
Wedding Decor
The Wedding Decor category helps couples create a coherent visual environment while managing cost, venue restrictions, installation requirements, and seasonal availability. Content should cover flowers, greenery, centerpieces, candles, linens, signage, ceremony backdrops, lighting, table settings, color palettes, rental items, and decorative installations. Articles should explain that décor decisions are connected to practical factors. A floral installation may require additional labor, structural support, delivery access, cleanup, and venue approval. Candle designs may be limited by fire regulations. Certain flowers may be expensive or unavailable during specific months. The category should help readers distinguish between inspiration and execution. A design may look simple in a photograph while requiring significant staffing, rentals, or installation time. Content should also support couples who prefer minimal, nonfloral, reusable, rented, or DIY décor. DIY recommendations must include realistic discussion of storage, transport, setup, cleanup, and time. Typical topics may include: seasonal wedding flowers; November wedding colors; December greenery and floral options; centerpiece costs; candle and lighting plans; nonfloral wedding décor; DIY décor logistics; venue décor restrictions; rental versus purchase decisions; creating a consistent color palette.
Wedding Venues
The Wedding Venues category focuses on selecting, evaluating, and booking ceremony and reception locations. Venue decisions are especially important because they influence almost every other part of the wedding. Content in this category should help readers look beyond photographs and advertised rental fees. Articles should explain how to evaluate capacity, layout, catering requirements, vendor restrictions, rental inclusions, setup access, cleanup responsibilities, parking, transportation, accessibility, noise limits, weather protection, and overtime policies. Venue-related content should place strong emphasis on contracts and total cost. A venue with a lower rental fee may become more expensive if tables, chairs, security, lighting, staffing, tents, generators, or cleanup are not included. The category may cover traditional venues as well as restaurants, hotels, private homes, backyards, barns, beaches, parks, museums, and destination properties. Each article should explain which type of couple or wedding format the venue may suit and what practical challenges it may create. Typical topics may include: questions to ask during a venue tour; comparing wedding venue packages; hidden venue fees; indoor versus outdoor venues; backyard wedding requirements; winter venue costs; venue capacity calculations; ceremony and reception in separate locations; what to check before signing a venue contract.
Wedding Food & Catering
Engagement
The Engagement category covers the period before and immediately after a marriage proposal. Content should support both the person planning a proposal and the couple beginning their engagement. Topics may include proposal preparation, ring preferences, family communication, privacy, photography, travel, announcements, ring insurance, resizing, celebrations, and the first planning conversations. The category should avoid presenting surprise proposals as the only romantic option. It should encourage couples to discuss marriage, finances, life goals, and expectations before an engagement, even when the exact proposal remains a surprise. Post-engagement content should help couples separate urgent tasks from decisions that can wait. Readers may need guidance on announcing the engagement, caring for the ring, setting boundaries with family, estimating a guest count, discussing a budget, and beginning venue research. The tone should be supportive but practical. The content should recognize that the engagement period may include excitement, uncertainty, family pressure, and a sudden increase in decisions. Typical topics may include: engagement season checklists; Christmas proposal planning; what to do after getting engaged; proposal photography; engagement ring insurance; announcement timing; first wedding planning conversations; proposal budgets; private versus public proposals; holiday engagement planning.
Food & Catering
The Food & Catering category explains how to plan wedding meals, beverages, service formats, staffing, and dietary accommodations. Articles should compare plated dinners, buffets, family-style meals, food stations, brunch receptions, cocktail-style events, and restaurant weddings. The content should explain the costs, staffing requirements, timing differences, and guest experience associated with each format. This category should help couples understand that menu price per person is only one part of the catering total. Staffing, rentals, service charges, taxes, gratuities, kitchen equipment, delivery, cake cutting, bar service, and overtime may significantly increase the final amount. Content should also address allergies, vegetarian and vegan meals, religious dietary requirements, children’s meals, vendor meals, and late-night food. Seasonal menu articles should use seasonality as a practical planning tool rather than turning every fall wedding into a Thanksgiving dinner or every winter wedding into a holiday-themed event. Typical topics may include: wedding menu planning; buffet versus plated dinner; catering cost per guest; November wedding menus; dietary restriction planning; bar package comparisons; cocktail-hour food; vendor meals; late-night snacks; questions to ask a wedding caterer.
Guest Experience
The Guest Experience category focuses on the practical comfort, communication, safety, and convenience of wedding guests. The goal is not to create extravagant entertainment for every guest. It is to remove avoidable confusion and discomfort. Articles should help couples think through the wedding from a guest’s perspective. Guests may need clear directions, comfortable temperatures, accessible facilities, suitable seating, transportation information, hotel options, dietary accommodations, weather guidance, and realistic timing. This category should explain how guest experience is affected by decisions involving venue access, ceremony length, waiting periods, parking, restrooms, food service, bar service, climate control, seating, and travel. The content should also recognize that different guests have different needs. Older guests, children, pregnant guests, people with disabilities, and guests traveling long distances may require additional consideration. Guest experience content should remain practical. It should not suggest that couples are responsible for satisfying every preference. Instead, it should help them identify essential needs, communicate limitations, and make reasonable accommodations. Typical topics may include: keeping guests warm at winter weddings; hotel blocks and travel guidance; accessible wedding planning; guest transportation; reducing waiting time; ceremony comfort; dietary accommodations; welcome information; outdoor wedding guest preparation; holiday wedding travel costs.
Registry & Gifts
The Registry & Gifts category helps couples create and manage wedding registries, gift preferences, cash funds, group gifts, and related guest communication. Content should explain how to build a registry that reflects the couple’s actual needs rather than following a generic list. Couples may already share a home, prefer experiences, need household upgrades, or want contributions toward travel, renovations, or future plans. Articles should cover price ranges, product quantities, returns, warranties, completion discounts, duplicate gifts, shipping, group gifting, registry timing, and updates after the wedding. The category should also address sales periods such as Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Couples need to understand how changing prices, limited inventory, retailer policies, and temporary discounts may affect both their registry and their guests. Gift-related content should remain tactful. It should help couples communicate preferences without making guests feel that gifts are required. It should also explain thank-you note timing and how to handle gifts received before the wedding. Typical topics may include: how to build a wedding registry; Black Friday registry strategy; cash fund etiquette; registry price ranges; group gifting; what not to add to a registry; registry completion discounts; duplicate gifts; thank-you note planning; registries for couples who already live together.
